The most delicious steak I've ever had.

So I was at Publix tonight, and I saw something that caught my eye.

Now, I've seen pinwheels before, usually in a deli tray - a flour tortilla-type roll with meat, cheese, maybe lettuce, rolled up and sliced thin as an appetizer; or a fish, sliced into a long thin filet and rolled up with some type of stuffing.

But this was new, and surprised me. So I bought it. And it was bloody delicious, people. And led me to a lot of ideas, which I will be exploring in the future. And I implore you to as well!

It was a flank steak rolled with provolone cheese and baby spinach. Cut about a half inch thick and an inch wide, in a strip about a foot long. Rolled around in a pinwheel with the baby spinach leaves and provolone slices.

Baked in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, and drizzled with Matt's Bourbon Cream Sauce, it was the best steak I have -ever- had.

Experiment with this concept on your own - use gouda for a sharper flavor, or leave out the spinach in the cooking and serve over field greens with wasabi mashed potatoes (use my garlic mashed potatoes, but mix in a tablespoon of wasabi paste when mashing/stirring) - and serve with a nice Pinot Noir or Zinfandel (red not white) for a very nice, high class restaurant style dinner without the high price tag.
